Painted Canyon-January 11, 2013

Today we ventured into Painted Canyon at Mecca Hills. A remarkable hike that included steep canyon walls, ladders, slots, ridges, fault lines, tormented rock formation and sediments perched on remarkable metamorphic rocks of a multitude of colors. The five mile hike takes around 4 hours with lunch. It is an adventure to be repeated time and again. With Gib running safety, the group performed well with no mishaps.
